Last month I posted about the terrible time I had experimenting with #vibecoding and how I thought the whole thing was BS.

I'm also a sore loser and have successfully tackled far too many technologies and projects over the years to let this one get me.

Made some adjustments, learned a few more things and was able to successfully vibe code a working MVP, Bookmark Ninja, and put it online.

Here's what I learned and how I got it done.

This was supposed to be a simple #ZimaOS install on a Beelink mini PC running a RAID 5 on 4x4TB external drives. Unfortunately that idea was doomed from the start, however I was able to salvage the project, and create automatic backups of my data.

Using #ClaudeCode is exactly like this:

You: "Can you do this?"
Claude Code: "Yes, I can do that. That's a wonderful way to do it."

You: "Do it."

Claude Code: "OK, here's me doing it. Can you see things happening? I'm doing it. OK, it's done."

You: "Where is it?"
Claude Code: "It's there. I've confirmed that it's there."

You: Where? "I don't see it."
Claude Code: "You're absolutely right. I never actually did it. Let me do it now."

I was hoping this would be my victory lap about conquering vibe coding, putting out fires, and ending up with a working app.

Sadly that is not this post. Unfortunately things got more f*cked up than a soup sandwich. Here's what happened...

#VibeCoding #ClaudeCode

Following up on Sunday's post about #ClaudeCode pretending to write code, I think this goes beyond hallucinations.

I stand by my opinion that:
"This can’t be simply excused away as “Models are experimental, and can make mistakes”. This is “Coding models may not actually code"...
...[We're not talking about] someone’s Github experiment, this is a company valued at $183B who is telling investors that this works. ".

Yesterday I found out that #ClaudeCode is a masterful bullshit artist. Creating dummy data, faking completed tasks, not coding actual functionality all while lying right to your face about it.

Sometimes #vibecoding be like.... 🤨

Sam Altman's announcement of an #AIjobsportal and #AICertification program sounds intriguing, although I question how deep that training is if they're starting with Walmart employees.

Also, whenever anyone introduces a new tech #Certification I'm instinctively like....

#VibeCoding tutorials make it look easy because most times they work out the kinks off camera.
I experienced a few unexpected frustrations along the way, but luckily they were easy to recover from.
