I've just been reading about a remarkable effort to study the surviving copies of the first printing of the Declaration of Independence in 1975, bringing 17 together at once at the Library of Congress. It turns out that a study of damage to the type during printing demonstrates that Houghton's is the earliest in the print run, except for a proof copy. See that e in "we"? It got broken between printing our copy and the one at LC. https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=coo.31924006399871&seq=7

Nice anecdotal peek at who is hanging around on the fediverse (and who happened to see the poll). I wonder how this would play out if confined to a particular sector, e.g. #HigherEd?
