RE: https://mastodon.social/@iceoutbot/116325135641960846
If you're like me and anxiously awaiting the canoeing season, I've got some good news: I brought my #Algonquin @iceoutbot back to life! Follow it for hourly updates on the ice status of lakes in Algonquin Park. #ontario #onstorm
(Sorry to those south of the border! I don't have a bot to get your ICE out.)
I just gave an interview with a journalist raising concerns about Kessler Syndrom and complaining about megaconstellations in general. And less than 5 minutes later, I see a post about a starlink satellite being involved in a "fragment creation event".
Small progress. I actually seem to be able to register via TCP. But then the server closes the connection but the phone expects the TCP connect to remain open because that's what the Cisco gear does. I can't seem to get to connect via UDP. Probably because of my ISP's stupid router. So the idea right now is to setup a simple asterisk server locally to handle this mismatch.
(PSA: I have no idea what I'm doing!)
