🛰️ 'Miracle': Europe reconnects with lost spacecraft
「 The lost spacecraft had been "tumbling" when an ESA team in Spain "saw that some sunlight is actually hitting the solar panels," Aschbacher explained.
They seized the chance, using this small amount of power to re-establish a connection.
The spacecraft's solar panel is now facing the sun, allowing it to charge its batteries 」

This is why I like working on small N-body simulations. No amount of money you throw at more cores, GPUs, or "AI" can make them faster.
@sundogplanets, Aaron Boley, and I have written an article in The Conversation Canada about the extremely stupid idea of putting a million satellites into orbit as AI data centres. We include some new simulations of how many satellites will be visible in the night sky if this goes ahead (left) compared to all the Starlink satellites already visible today (right). It's bad.
Eine Million SpaceX-Satelliten und Sonnenspiegel: Dramatische Appelle an die FCC
Eine etablierte US-Raumfahrtfirma und ein Start-up wollen viel mehr und noch hellere Satelliten ins All schießen. Die Folgen wären gravierend, wird gewarnt.
