Danielle and I went to No Kings in the Lake Baldwin suburb of Orlando Florida. This was an evening gathering because Danielle is not a morning person. But as you can see, her sign game is strong.
The main Orlando protest was downtown at Lake Eola in the morning. But several hundred people showed up and lined both sides of a major intersection for our protest. We waved signs and got a lot of positive response from passing cars.
@xabean Stews and other “one pot” or slow cooker type meals tend to work well for this. Also casseroles. Basically any meal where all the ingredients end up getting cooked together means that you can put the leftovers in single-serving freezer containers and heat them up later.
Some of my favorites include red beans and rice, jambalaya, rice pilafs and stir-fries with whatever ingredients are on hand, potato hashes with whatever ingredients happen to be on hand, etc.
For many people, the #Linux vs #Windows vs #Mac debate is a privilege — it assumes you can choose. But working with the Computer Upcycle Project, I've seen the real choice is often Linux vs no computer at all.
~95% of donated computers are "too old" for Windows 11 or macOS. Linux installs on them anyway, adding 10+ years of life to machines #Microsoft and #Apple called trash.
This isn't Linux vs Windows. It's Linux vs e-waste.
@mekkaokereke I never cared for the book that much (tho I enjoyed The Martian a great deal). It's disappointing that he went on a fascist podcast to support his movie. I'm not going to listen to the podcast itself, but I found coverage of the podcast from a fascist blog, and being "apolitical" in a time of fascism means you're at least condone fascism. I looked for other interviews, and he seems like a generic "libertarian" and "I don't see race" white guy. I can definitely understand not supporting someone with that kind of racism. https://www.westernjournal.com/project-hail-mary-writer-says-hit-film-worked-avoided-woke-political-agendas/
