$ gem install specific_install

Compiles against LibreSSL without any issue. Grab a cup of coffee and patiently await the gem succesfully compiling.

Sorting out why the openssl v3.0.1 RubyGem wouldn't work on OpenBSD was a hellish job. The --with-openssl-dir option didn't work, because it expected a Linux path. Aaarrrgghhh!

The repo version (3.1.0.pre) fixes it. Took me way too long to discover that.

@aka_pugs Well, I'd say Unix is back after a brief period in the background - software today is generally developed on Macs (Darwin/BSD) and deployed on a cloud which likely runs some variant of Linux and largely consumed on Apple of Android things.

Sure, a lot of kit is sold with that other system preinstalled, but that thing is in steady decline.

@pitrh @aka_pugs the fact WSL exists is probably an indication of things to come, perhaps an implicit admission that Windows has grown too big to be manageable.
