@BathysphereHat @evan It's probably yet another toxic masculinity thing but I absolutely to not like people knowing I'm sick. It feels very vulnerable and exposing.
@evan My wife says I'm like a cat because I don't like anybody to know I'm sick. I like to both hide from people and pretend I'm fine. So I'm guessing this falls into the "avoid embarrassment" category.
@mwichary I meant css width and height of auto assuming you had intrinsic width and height attributes on the img element. But honestly I’m very fuzzy on how all these fit together. I just feel like I’ve done this before with the same goals — no reflow, respect aspect ratio, fit in a box, and add a border. If I’m way off base pls disregard. Normally I’d try this stuff before spouting off haha.
@mwichary Are you setting width and height to auto? I’m not totally following and I’m not in a place to try anything right now but my recollection is you definitely can have max-width and max-height without disregarding aspect ratio but you might need explicit auto width and height.
@nora I like when they use super-realistic futuristic language.
i love when science fiction writers who made their little books before phones invent phones for their books and they call them something like a "handheld computer slate"
@benroyce @grickle do you WANT a world overrun with penguins?! Just kidding. They do sound nasty.
@Elizafox When I was a teen, the trope we always heard was "Teenagers think they're invincible." We thought this was very funny, and we would always shout "I THINK I AM INVINCIBLE" while doing things we knew were dumb (but fun!).
@dugglebutt I have never been on the open ocean but the idea terrifies me too. I will add though that THE WHOLE UNIVERSE is trying to kill you. Kind of funny how much I depend on this tiny slip of air and rock and call it safe.

@dugglebutt In the wise words of Herman Melville:

"STICK TO THE BOAT, is your true motto in whaling; but cases will sometimes happen when LEAP FROM THE BOAT, is still better."
