This is a masterpiece. The space invader that’s drawn as you read is unique for each visit too. Very clever.

You can have Copilot generate your formulas in Excel now, but it doesn't sound ready for prime time.

Somehow missed this:

Pakistan, home to more than 240 million people, is experiencing one of the most rapid #solar revolutions on the planet, even as it grapples with poverty and economic instability.

Suddenly about half the country’s electricity comes from solar. It’s not industrial solar farms or state-led: it’s a bottom-up revolution: households fed up with rising power costs and blackouts buying what are now ridiculously cheap solar panels.

How Pakistan pulled off one of the fastest solar revolutions in the world

Pakistan has become one of the biggest new solar markets. It’s bringing cheap, clean power but analysts warn of potential trouble ahead.

@evgandr

Yes, Corporate Memphis sucks but normal Memphis style is cool.

@evgandr why tf would I do that to my followers
@evgandr idk it makes me nostalgic for a certain era of Bon Appetit, right before I dropped it
@evgandr I associate that with the meditation app headspace
Corporate Memphis

Corporate Memphis is a minimalist visual aesthetic. Taking Flat Design and blending it with shades of Corporate and the original Memphis Design, this art style aims to create visuals that are easy to mass produce and utilize for commercial purposes. Although a Memphis Revival did occur from the mid 2010s onward, the term "Corporate Memphis" has become indelibly attached to an illustration style pioneered by Facebook. @evgandr The artstyle is fine, just oversaturated by one of the worst use cases around.

@evgandr I wouldn't say hate.

It's ugly and looks like complete shit, but I've never encountered it anywhere outside discussions of ugly design.

I think they've been using it quite extensive on Microsoft website at some point — they've mostly got rid of it since then though.
But otherwise — yeah, it's mostly for corporate communication and praesentations, not for something customer-facing.
Now that I think about it, I might have also seen it in Android software — in these "Let's help you set things up…" welcome screens, but I might be wrong about that — not such a big Android user.

@evgandr

Why does THIS even exist???

@johan @evgandr I fuckin' hate Memphis corporate style, even disabled kid would draw more soulful illustrations
@evgandr, looks like there's twice as much hate as there should be in that image, but perhaps it's actually the right amount…
