We reached our destination, Logroño in La Rioja, and celebrated in a local restaurant, with, of course, Rioja wine.
We have walked two different stretches before on the Camino francés, between León and Ponferrada, and between Sarria and Santiago de Compostela, about 120 km.
This time we walked from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France to Logroño in Spain, about 160 km.
Seventh day, and last day for us, on the camino this time. We walked 160 km during seven days, and will return later to continue the almost 800 km long Camino francés.
The walk from Los Arcos to Logroño was 28 km! We did it in six hours.
Magical landscapes, vineyards, flowers on the route.
Sixth day on the camino.
Fuente del Vino at Bodegas Irache. Free wine!

Finally we arrived at Estella and had a glass of Irache, the local supplier.
Fairy tale landscapes on the fifth day of walking the camino.
We finally arrived at Puente La Reína with its old bridge.
And the Calle Mayor was impressive.
The fourth day of walking, from Pamplona to Puente La Reína, 24 km.
It took some time to leave Pamplona, but then the landscapes became beautiful again.
Lot's of yellow rape fields. And now we saw vines. We have come that far down from the Pyrenees!
And some art commemorating pilgrims on the way.
Resting one day in Pamplona and enjoying its museums.
And living at the street by which the bulls run during the Festival of San Fermín in July.
Hemingway would have been watching the bulls from THAT balcony!
