Another place we visited on our recent trip was the beautiful church in Whitstone. We first visited this over 20 years ago, so it was wonderful to see St Anne's holy well again, with the small stone in the back which is believed to have been carved to depict the goddess Anu.
If I receive the answer "I don't mind" to the question "what would everybody like to do today?", there is a strong likelihood we'll end up at a stone circle or holy well. Be warned.
I'm not sure anyone was as keen as I was to see Merrivale, yesterday. 😂
