Elon Musk wants to put a million new satellites into space. Meantime, his old ones keep falling out of the sky - and landing on the Canadian prairies! This week, I rose in the Senate to launch my inquiry in the many problems caused by satellite pollution. Here's the NFL capitulating to the most unpopular president of all time.

Congress is voting to reauthorize a surveillance law while a sitting Senator is on record saying there's a secret interpretation of it that will "stun" the public when revealed.

They know. They're voting anyway.

Sen. Wyden Warns of Another Section 702 Abuse - Schneier on Security

Sen. Ron Wyden is warning us of an abuse of Section 702: Wyden took to the Senate floor to deliver a lengthy speech, ostensibly about the since approved (with support of many Democrats) nomination of Joshua Rudd to lead the NSA. Wyden was protesting that nomination, but in the context of Rudd being unwilling to agree to basic constitutional limitations on NSA surveillance. But that’s just a jumping off point ahead of Section 702’s upcoming reauthorization deadline. Buried in the speech is a passage that should set off every alarm bell: There’s another example of secret law related to Section 702, one that directly affects the privacy rights of Americans. For years, I have asked various administrations to declassify this matter. Thus far they have all refused, although I am still waiting for a response from DNI Gabbard. I strongly believe that this matter can and should be declassified and that Congress needs to debate it openly before Section 702 is reauthorized. In fact, ...

Google Search Is Now Sometimes Using AI To Replace Headlines - Slashdot

"Google is beginning to replace news headlines in its search results with ones that are AI-generated," reports the Verge: After doing something similar in its Google Discover news feed, it's starting to mess with headlines in the traditional "10 blue links," too. IN AT LEAST ONE WAY, WE CAN BE HAPPY this Administration is so NUCKING INCOMPETENT that they aren't better at covering up their crimes.

In their zeal to trash former Special Prosecutor #JackSmith, they inadvertently released documents THEIR OWN LAWYERS fought to conceal (establishing a possible motive for why #TraitorTrump stole hundreds of #ClassifiedDocs.) 🤦‍♂️ 👍

Trump DOJ’s smear tactic backfires; reveals Smith’s theory of Trump’s classified documents case

Despite Judge Aileen Cannon restricting some documents from Jack Smith's investigation of Donald Trump from being made public, Rep. Jamie Raskin found that Trump Justice Department shared some of those documents with the House Oversight Committee in an effort to help smear Jack Smith, not realizing they were also exposing Smith's theory of why Trump was hoarding classified documents. Rep. Raskin discusses with Jen Psaki.

"Several survivors have said that files documenting their own FBI interviews were not among the released records, and some lawmakers have also accused the justice department of withholding and redacting material in violation of the law and have raised concerns that some disclosures exposed personal information about survivors."

@elfunrokr Now what? Who acts on that to physically enforce consequences?

*Telling* the Trump admin anything is pointless.

Well… that is a first. In yesterday’s parliamentary elections in Denmark, painter and provocateur Kristian von Hornsleth tried to bribe voters into voting for the Enhedslisten party.

On his Instagram account he offered artworks for votes if voters photographed their vote, proving that they had indeed voted for Enhedslisten.

Obviously, this is a violation of the Danish penal code and punishable by up to 2 years in prison.

Yesterday, Hornsleth was arrested and charged by Copenhagen Police.
