He’s Been Right About AI for 40 Years. Now He Thinks Everyone Is Wrong. Yann LeCun invented many fundamental components of modern AI. Now he’s convinced most in his field have been led astray by the siren song of large language models. Once again he stated that the current buzz around LLM is going to die and claimed that there is no way anyone can build AGI with LLM. He repeated his claim that the cats are smarter than the LLM https://www.wsj.com/tech/ai/yann-lecun-ai-meta-0058b13c?st=19Ec8H&reflink=article_copyURL_share

A mainboad wtih a 2Ghz CPU, +G RAM, a spare harddrive, freeBSD and Nextcloud install is working fine on a LAN. It al works fine. #FreeBSD #Nextcloud
Elinizde boş olan bir kasanız varsa, Nextcloud kurup kullanabilirsiniz. Biraz zahmetli olabilir ama sunacaklarına değer!
"Sysadmin" is just another way to say "professional patcher." You're a roofer, but indoors and with different tar.

Just introduced a new category of reverse engineering labs: Multistage. Multistage labs simulate full malware attack chains based on real-world malware campaigns. These labs are designed to familiarize malware analysts with reversing more complex infection chains, rather than just standalone malware samples.

@nuintari There's no support for ZFS for a number of reasons, technical and cultural.

  • CDDL isn't compatible with OpenBSD's copyright policy.

  • OpenBSD has no loadable kernel modules, so it would mean including ZFS in the GENERIC kernel..

  • ZFS is not just a filesystem, it includes a volume manager and sizable chunk of Solaris code into the BSD kernel.

Naturally there's some aversion to doing that. But more importantly, there's a lack of developers interested in porting filesystems. It's a massive project to take on.. and not one likely to ever be suitable for inclusion into base.

The best advice I had recently. Justin Tolman has written a greta article based on a real event. It suggests that incident response and forensics must be considered in and applied in parallel. If you want to read the full article, follow the link: https://www.csoonline.com/article/4079615/volvos-recent-security-breach-5-tips-to-speed-incident-response-while-preserving-forensic-integrity.html
Volvo’s recent security breach: 5 tips to speed incident response while preserving forensic integrity

Volvo’s data scare shows how fast — and smart — you need to move after a breach, especially when the problem starts with a vendor.

@dgar
The right form would be:

AI to do what?
Save us money!

And how?
Firing employees!

@NicholasLaney
I included some further context in the AltText. 😁
@NicholasLaney @dgar
-What do we want?
To fire everyone!
- How are you going to make money after?
Doesn't matter, I'll be working elsewhere!
- How will you get anyone not to see through it?
-AI!
@dgar AI: Advertising Invasion.

@dgar

Yes...and no. They want to push ROI and shareholder value:

Amazon is cutting 14,000 corporate jobs in a big AI push

Amazon is cutting 14,000 corporate jobs in a big AI push

Bosses at the e-commerce and tech giant said they are "convicted that we need to be organized more leanly" to move quickly on AI

Quartz
@HistoPol @dgar nobody has a clear vision though how to "push ROI", and anyone that's tried large scale worker replacement beyond call center agents has not been able to report any meaningful financial success as far as I'm aware. And even with call centers, the jury is largely still out

@dgar

toot.wales has an AI generated thumbs up emoji

Says it all really  🙄

@dgar Should be

AI to do what - Stop paying wages

@staringatclouds @dgar These folks would absolutely embrace chattel slavery if they could get away with it.
@dgar Please use our AI. We spent so much money on it.
@dgar

"get us paid"

because in reality Ai is,

"just bribe money!"

_they all cover their mouths_
@dgar They absolutely know for what: they want to fire people and save money, but they will never say that.
@madtyn a few CEOs have already said that.
