When the career employees at the DOT and FAA and NTSB swoop in and get a handle on this horrible accident in DC, doing their usual competent and difficult jobs without any whiff of politics, do you think the new Secretary of Transportation will notice?
Will he see how they basically saved his inexperienced ass from the get-go, and have second thoughts about firing all of them and replacing them with lackeys?
I highly doubt it, but I can at least hold out a neutrino's worth of hope.
