*cave johnson voice* don't just shoot for the moon! punch a hole in the moon! pulverize that son of a gun! make them have to identify the moon from its dental records! bury the moon in the woods! then bury the woods! with the moon!

Any recommendations for ceramic repair adhesives I could get in Canada? Doesn’t need to be food safe but would be nice to be dishwasher safe.

The internet seems to be recommending Sugru but I can’t find it outside of Amazon & Walmart.

@analogfusion He was on a short deadline coming off another Data-centric episode. I can't really blame him, just the suits.

I think they leaned a little too heavily on the Aztec aesthetic, although I did like the pictograms.

It's awfully convenient that alien computers are compatible with the Enterprise. It's thematic, yeah, yeah.

I do wonder what daily life was like in that culture.

@analogfusion I honestly think it did him a disservice by not giving him time to develop the characters.
As I understand it, this coming right after the Data-heavy episode Thine Own Self, Brent Spiner wasn't given enough time to prepare the seven or so characters he had to play, which is why he comes off pretty hammy in this one.
I know this is a well-hated episode, but I've always liked it when Trek leans into the strange. Also when the main cast have to adapt to a new civilization to communicate.

No one needs your permission to exist.

You need the permission of no one to exist.

Each living thing imposes a little order on the world, we are anchored by our "oldest tree" --and if it is struck down there is another and another and another forever. A scrap of living root in chaos left by clear cutting and fire or a stout behemoth of an ancient tree that announced its age as it rises from the rocks and moss. Living systems are more resilient than the violence that tears at our fringes.

Heading out at the crack of dawn to work outside all day. This is a good omen, right?
