An essential part of being able to say ‘I told you so’ is in fact having told you so. Here goes. In April 2023, I wrote an article titled AI: Guaranteed to disrupt our economies. In this piece I also announced I was going to make a fool of myself by making some AI predictions. I have singularly failed to do so. In retrospect this was all spot on, except for perhaps missing the sheer magnitude of the madness that was about to ensue.
Me in October 2024: "Hmmm #Linux seems interesting, maybe I'll start learning it on a Raspberry Pi... and if I'm lucky enough in 5-10 years I can host my own Fediverse instance."
Me in October 2025: "No we can't fly back to Paris on October 25th. IT'S LINUX DAY in Italy! I need to attend events." I'm also self-hosting my own GoToSocial, Pixelfed, PeerTube and NextCloud (thanks to #YunoHost). And no I'm not bragging, I'm sharing my new addiction. Send help please 😅🤣
