Also Apple had a great animation celebrating its anniversary. Too bad they didn't really do anything else.
Powered up the SuperSE to quickly throw together a graphic in SuperPaint commemorating Apple’s 50th anniversary. “50 Years of Thinking Different.” #Apple50 #Apple #computinghistory #technology

Installing Debian on the W541 – Garrett Fuller

These are two of my favorite memes about companies putting AI into everything.

if you have any additional favorite ones you want to share, I wouldn't mind a few more to spice up one of my coming talks with....

It took about an hour to transfer ~20 GB of data to the thumb drive using OpenIndiana on the W541. To transfer those same files onto Debian on the W541, using the same thumb drive plugged into the same USB 2.0 port, it only took minutes.
Goodbye OpenIndiana, hello #Debian. Debian 13 “Trixie” successfully installed on the W541 with KDE Plasma 6 Wayland. So far the W541 is running far smoother with Debian… everything works, including the built-in Intel Wireless 7260 radio and even the brightness controls! Only issue so far is my thumb drive keeps randomly disconnecting while transferring files, which itself is going much faster in Debian than OI.
