@klaushipp Way more knowledgeable folks out there than me that can weigh in on this… but I repurposed a bunch of old enterprise gear in 2019 and started with #unraid and have loved every second of it. The Serverbuilds.net forums and Discord community have been massively helpful, as well as videos by ibracorp.io and SpaceInvader One on YouTube!

Regarding Efforts By You, In Inferior Person, To Cancel Me, A Genius

As you know, I recently said something incendiary and provocative, and you reacted, as did many people like you.

What do I do for a living? Like many of you, my primary occupation is entering passwords and two-factor codes into a variety of apps and websites all day long.

I've been telling my clients that I assessed with moderate confidence the LastPass incident was likely a nation state threat actor.

Learning TAs compromised the home machine of one of only four admis with access to their vault only adds to my confidence. Not only did they compromise the admin through a media service that itself had an incident days earlier, they knew how to capitalize on the data they found on the LastPass admin's machine.

Excellent reporting (as expected) by @dangoodin.

LastPass says employee’s home computer was hacked and corporate vault taken

Already smarting from a breach that stole customer vaults, LastPass has more bad news.

"In the age of reaction chains, we are drawn towards controversy, absurd public spectacles, endlessly mutating memes, trolling etc. In these showers of feedback, much of the appeal is in the sheer quantity of reaction being circulated. Feedback mechanisms, which the cyberneticians viewed as instruments to achieve autonomy and facilitate navigation, turn out to be a trap"

Last night the 11yo broke down the Google Slides middle school Chatroom for me:

1. At first they used a Google doc but the infinite scroll was too chaotic
2. In the slide deck each new slide is one “post”—some all text, some images, some both—
3. They use slides’ comments feature to “reply” to each other’s “posts”
4. This allows participants to easily flip between posts using the slide thumbnail navigation, so they can find the conversations they care about easily
5. He owns the file & if anyone spams it, deletes other people’s posts, or gets nasty, he can revert the file to its previous save state & remove the spammer’s access
6. He did share the file with me on purpose, I think because he was proud & wanted me to see what he’d made

Essentially they’ve created a chatroom with moderation in Google Slides, so they can get around the school’s ban on platforms like Discord. It’s kind of brilliant

Here’s how I know the kids knocked the toilet paper roll off the holder. NOBODY lets it hang under flow style. It’s waterfall all the way!!

i had to discipline my pet rock
