More caning in this movie than I'd anticipated.
So many incredible shots in this that are basically paintings.
Have fashioned poor Dash some firework-protection armor out of the pillows.
Amelia and I will now spend the remainder of the Fourth watching "Barry Lyndon" for the first time.

An avoidance strategy I've noticed more lately is people losing sight of what is in their control & only focusing on atrocities that arent in their control (or, only very minimally so).

This will always be the thing about Madsen to me. A true journeyman—admirably so. You go through his IMDB, and he was doing 6–10 movies a year starting in the late '90s.
Michael Madsen dies at 67

Michael Madsen, whose menacing characters in “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill” made him a standout in Quentin Tarantino’s films, has died. He was 67. Madsen’s manager says the actor was found unresponsive in his home in Malibu, California on Thursday and was declared dead from what appeared to be cardiac arrest. Madsen’s career spanned more than 300 credits stretching back to the early 1980s, many in low budget films. But his most memorable screen moment may have been the sadistic torture of a captured police officer in 1992’s “Reservoir Dogs.” He would become a Tarantino regular, appearing in the “Kill Bill” films and “The Hateful Eight.”
