The cynical reality is, they are giving their lives for nothing, Putin refusing to admit russia has lost this war will do nothing for anyone but prolong the suffering and death for russians.

This is probably why the amount of bullshit and self-deception is so high in russia, once you look that reality in the eyes as a russian fighter it must shatter you.

There is nothing you are fighting for because no matter how well you do the war is already lost.

The simple fact remains that if you are a russian soldier you will die a meaningless and brutal death in no man’s land fighting because your bullshitting leader couldn’t admit the war could not be won. How can you be patriotic towards your country while looking that fact in the face?

We talk a lot about tanks and air defense, but how many cars and fuel tanks can russia produce per day?

They are losing hundreds of them a day for quite some time now.

It’d be cathartic, but Trump’s pettiness is boundless. I don’t see an upside to turning the US away from the table at this time, but I can imagine a few different ways a flustered trump would retaliate, ranging from a string of sloppy tweets to going mask-off and dropping all support for Ukraine and explicitly and directly supporting Russia instead. The US is not a stable player, and every day it’s a little bit less so. There could potentially be more to lose than their support, so all I’m saying is this needs to be dealt with tactfully. I know it’s torture but this might be one of those “let him come to the table and pretend he’s doing something to keep him dumb and happy” situations.
