@jbhall56 @benrothke They could, but they didn't historically because anything outside of strict QSA assessment work fell outside their remit. In the same way as they don't really have any leverage over QSACs that only do consulting, and produce zero ROCs a year consistently, they weren't comfortable telling anyone what they could or couldn't do beyond the ROC. This was in Gill's time there before she retired, I don't know if Mark (or Legal) would take a different view these days, though I guess not based on your summary of the Assessor call...

@benrothke @jbhall56 the reason the Council would give a few years ago was that compliance certificates are considered an “extra service” over and above the work they do as a QSA, so it’d essentially be a restriction on the QSA’s ability to provide additional services. Thats why the focus has been on telling entities not to accept the certs, rather than on stopping QSACs from producing them, the most they can do is say “please stop.” 🤷🏻‍♂️

@cmconseils You absolutely deserve help. I only know you from reading your posts here for the last 6 months or so, but you seem like a good person, going through several tough life events all at once. Most people can deal with one or two of them at any one time, it sounds like you’ve just had an absolute tsunami of them recently, and I’m sorry to hear that. I hope things start to improve for you soon, and in the meantime there are lots of people here who care about you, even though they’ve never met you. Please don’t think twice about asking for help here, or anywhere else.
