Most of the time now I feel I have to be numb to the horrible things happening in my country.

Numb enough to see it and know it without falling apart.

Not so numb as to ignore it, to do everything in my power to stop it.

But then some days I feel it all, and it hollows me out, like today.

Just got my final letter from my STEM penpal.

I’m part of a program that pairs K-12 students with STEM professionals for mentorship through exchanged letters. My guy is interested in gaming technologies.

It’s cute and fun. I had a good time. I’m honored that I was invited.
