Registration for Guix Days 2026 is complete. We have a full group of 60 participants. Just putting together some name cards and lanyards - I couldn't get a lanyard in Guix gold/yellow.

Updated #neomutt to the latest version in #guix It's mutt with additional capabilities, it's been a fun few days investigating it. Really like the #imap is built-in and working nicely.

What's the #1 improvement #guix contributors would like to see?
Timely reviews and actions taken on contributions. It was #1 in every question, with so many comments!
Lots of contributors thinking about ways to automate patch reviews and QA. The theme is removing friction from the Dev Experience.
Both Python and #Nix have approaches to this. What's the approach for Guix? Lots to talk about on this front at #guixdays

How likely are #guix contributors to keep contributing?
66% are likely which is great. From the comments we can see that it's a friendly project and the package format is pretty approachable.
Most volunteer contributors are 'scratching their own' itch - so it doesn't mean they all WILL contribute again. But it's a good indicator of overall feeling.
Ultimately contributor satisfaction is really important for #FOSS health!

Be interesting to consider packaging and testing priorities at #guixdays given this figure
About a third are #server deployments, on hardware, but also #vm #kvm - interesting!
The ability to use #guix for #docker or #singularity deployments and #CI were all mentioned. Maybe potential for further development?
#Using #guix in #cloud or #containers with #orchestration (e.g. #k8s ) doesn't seem widespread yet.
