This whole “swapping” hormones thing being promoted by #trans people is not realistic nor clinically responsible.
Doctors aren’t just drug dispensers; if a doctor prescribes hormones, they’re going to want to do follow-up lab work on you to make sure the prescription you’ve been prescribed is working effectively and without side-effects.
A lot of times you also won’t get refills on prescriptions if lab work isn’t followed through with.

It’s been forever! Where do I start?
I’m in my last nearly 26 weeks of a 6.5 year journey of Naturopathic medical school. I’m a soon to be Naturopathic Physician (ND).
I’m horrified about what is happening here within the United States and often spend my days wondering when we’ll take this country back by force. Apparently all too many don’t think it’s bad enough yet. 😭
Anyway, just here to let you know I’m alive and trying my best to navigate these unprecedented times. 😏
In a time of fascist aggression, "I'm not political" = default fascist.
And fascism is always with us. It's the herpes of society. It's chilling in our social ganglia like a goddamned closet monster.
You're either antifascist or you're a potential fascist, like those NPC's in The Matrix.
Last year, Amazon wracked up $14.2 billion over a two-day period with their Prime Day sale. Amazon Prime "Day" 2025 will be a four-day event, no doubt still hoping to break their record of how much sweat-shop garbage they can peddle to an increasingly incredulous consumer base. Jeff Bezos, who recently spent an estimated $20 million on his lavish Venetian wedding, doesn't need your money. Resist temptation and scratch your shopping itch by giving a new home to a pre-loved book instead!
Firestorm Books is hosting a book swap on July 9th at our shop in Asheville, NC. 📚♻️
No limit on the number of books you can bring or take, just be considerate of what you bring (don't bring what you think is "trash") or take (don't take aaaaalll the good books)! You're welcome to hang out and read while you sip a complimentary mocktail.
And yes, you can still participate even if you don't have books to contribute!
