Now that it has a video BIOS, more titles work. Still buggy, still fun.
Party sprinkles, MCGA SRAM edition. I’m not sure which is more surprising, that the build engine supports MCGA or that my Graphics Gremlin does (now). Off to a decent start.
Verilated MCGA brought up using Bochs with the IBM BIOS, generated from script-driven translations of tubetime's schematic captures. Still buggy. Still fun.
The weirdest color ISA MDA card is alive (mda graphics gremlin core, color attribute byte decoding). This used to be a PC/104 DeviceNet network card (Molex/Woodhead SST-DN4-104-1). Now it is a video card.
How it’s going, PC/104 edition. The 16 bit portion of the connector is not connected to the ISA bus to provide I/O for DVI and the VFD.
iceprog works well with Tigard but make sure to use TRST for SS and not TMS/SS!
PSA: HDMI *in* to DP alt mode + USB combiners now exist at consumer prices. The AV Access H2C01 is around $40. I have an HP LapDock I mostly use as a KVM for USB-C machines, but this opens up the support to much more than that.
My inner child would not shut up about this.
Same VGA functionality ported to use the Altera PCIe soft IP core with the Arria GX FPGA in the AHA363 Gzip accelerator card that
@tom_verbeure reverse engineered. I am using the Mictor debug header for DVI out with Mike Field’s TMDS encoder/serializer.
my FPGA video cards keep showing the palette
