@ekaitz_zarraga books have too many middle men all wanting a piece of the pie. When ebooks became possible, they just salivated at increasing profits. I actually wouldn't mind paying a large fraction of that if it went to the content creator ... Say being self published. Sharing knowledge is one thing but if they are hoping to make a living on some niche knowledge, that could be hard.

@[email protected] fyi mastodon is licensed under AGPL from FSF. Sometimes we realize we've used great software built by a whole community and we have a desire to create something to share.
The whole idea may be naive and easily abused but the purity of the action transcends beyond capitalism.
@[email protected] maybe I'm just tired, but I don't quite understand how GPL impedes freedoms when the whole point is to share and enforcement that improvements are also shared. Whether that is enforced or not is a different issue.
I haven't heard anything about GitHub linked with ICE. I have no idea what programmer you're talking about.
