Totensonntag, November 22, 2025, is the annual date of #Berlin's Crematorium Day. On this day, the Berlin crematoria show visitors how cremation works, and you can go to some of these places around town.

Last month I spent a few days in Bologna to celebrate a friend's birthday. One of the reasons we went there was to visit a place that makes the famous Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. Since that place was close to #Parma, we ended up going for a walk around town after the cheese incident.

Yesterday I went out to celebrate my 14th year living in #Berlin. I arrived in town back in 2012 with a fundamentally wrong vision of what the city could be. And through the years I managed to find myself in it, and I still think the decision to move over here was the best one I ever made.

So, yesterday I went out to see fastcore legends Yacøpsæ play at Abstand/Rigaer78, and it was precisely what I had in mind.

Before I ever visited Hamburg, I had a vision of the city in my head. It was a modern German metropolis by the water, crowned by the Elbphilharmonie and the energy of one of Europe’s largest ports. When I went to the city for the first time, I got a better sense of it.

This is so painfully obvious it shouldn't need to be said, but I'm glad a major news service is saying it, and clearly. #IranWar #RenewableEnergy

There are no tourists in these shots of #Venice, which makes them look even more surreal. The streets are empty because my girlfriend and I got up early to see the sun rise over San Marco Square.

And I don't know who the couple taking wedding pictures is. I saw so many people taking pictures like that in the square that I had to document them somehow.

@alexeystar I can only imagine how bad things look now. If it was awful in some areas when I visited… I wish there was some sort of restoration all around since that tower is insane! I loved it.

This is actually really interesting. When I was young and stupid I decided to walk from Brighton to Hastings (about 13 hours). And what struck me at the time was that you simply couldn't walk the coast, which I thought was a bit weird. Now I'm old and stupid I'd like to do this whole route. I bet there are people planning to walk/run it.

World's longest coastal path opens in England to the public

The King Charles coastal path will allow walkers right of access to the entire coast for the first time.

Six years ago this week, I was in #Belgrade to see the Western City Gate, also known as Genex Tower or Kula Geneks in Serbian.

This is a massive #brutalist skyscraper in Belgrade and can be seen from all around town.

Researchers from Cornell University have developed what they call "the Corporate Bullshit Receptivity Scale," a tool designed to measure how impressed people are by business school-style jargon that sounds strategic but says very little.

The findings, described in a recent study, suggest that employees who rate this sort of language as insightful are more likely to struggle with analytical thinking and workplace decision-making.
