Some SMT components should probably NOT be soldered with solder paste and a heat gun. This first one seems to connect OK, but I'm not trying it again!
I guess it's a known problem that KiCad and JLCPCB disagree on what their output files are actually saying when it comes to component placement. It would be nice if they got it sorted out, because I have this feeling that if they could, I wouldn't feel like there's a 24-hour turnaround where I have to say "yes, put the parts, you know, on the board, rather than floating off in the middle of nowhere".
Every time the BBC does this, it just makes me want to go listen to Episode 3 and find out just what it was they thought made it unbroadcastable today.
I came away lightly. One set of sticks, one new bearing diabolo, one fixed, and two mini diabolos.
Annual pilgrimage to Oddballs juggling shop begins. Maybe a new, quieter, diabolo, and of course the chance to measure up my new lights for compatibility with other diabolo makes and sizes.
A quick visit to Bushy Park. Then I got to see a man chasing his dog, chasing a deer. Everyone else yelling "Fenton!"
Don't forget that by facing south tonight, you can get a marvelous view of the Aurora's Butthole.
I still don't know what I'm doing, but now I have a rough idea of what it'll look like.
I feel like I may have reached the "out of my depth" phase of this design. I don't think I should order it just yet.
Edit: Clarification: this is my design. I am trying to figure out what still needs to be done before I can either order a blank PCB and assemble the parts on it myself, or order a PCB with most/all of the parts already assembled. I'm not ordering someone else's design, which is why I'm fairly convinced there's something wrong with it, that could have been spotted by someone who knows more about what they're doing than I do. I'm hoping one of my friends on here does, and has the time and interest to take a look.
I've just never been good at asking for help.
