Why do we fall so easily for fake news and conspiracy theories, and what can we do about it? George Clooney executive produced documentary film HOW TO BUILD A TRUTH ENGINE will be shown in its English language version for the first time in Austria on Sunday, October 20 at 13:00 followed by a panel discussion. The director of the film, Friedrich Moser, will be joined by executive producer Gabriel Silverman from Washington, DC & Vienna based SideXSide Studios. Gabe is a journalist and director who previously worked for Bloomberg News as a White House reporter and the Washington Post as a video journalist. His reporting has received dozens of awards and has helped change US federal policy. In their conversation, Gabe will talk about the information ecosystem in the US, his work experience with covering then President Obama, the deep reach of conspiracy theories and, of course, the upcoming US elections. Friedrich, and Gabe will also answer questions from the audience. Regular relase date: December 12 - school screenings already possible from now on.
