Passionate believer in the entropic effect of mass data creating a singularity of epic disappointment.

My views are your own.

Sometimes I have to use Windows and I feel thankful I have Linux and FOSS.

Sometimes I use flowblade and I'm glad I didn't pay for this shit.

I'm not sure I've ever used anything as shit as #firefox translate.

I could look at that photo and guess from context a more accurate translation despite being completely illiterate in the alphabet and language being used. And somehow an extra digit was added to the price, so it went from 8.80 to 88.80.

HOW HAVE YOU SHIPPED SOMETHING THIS FUCKING BAD?

HAVE YOU NO PRIDE?
NO SELF-ESTEEM?
NO RESPECT FOR YOUR USERS? YOURSELF? YOUR CRAFT?

I know piling on #Mozilla is a cliche at this point, but seriously, who is running this shitfire and okaying components that are literally worse than nothing?

Anyone using #linux for photography or anyone who uses #gthumb able to tell me if you can tag photos, store the tags non-destructuvely and then restore those tags when you have a system crash? Because my fresh installation of #gthumb won't recognise my years of meticulous tagging copied over from my old dotfiles and I want to die.

@jay Um. You're sort of missing the point here. I'm the Linux reporter for the Register:

I'm pretty good on Linux these days, thanks. 😄

I'm also 57. I said my _first_ impression. That was Lasermoon Linux/FT in 1995.

Kernel 1.2, and not a single program you named existed on Linux yet 30 years ago...

This search function is truly diabolical.

I hope when Skynet comes looking for me this is how they go about it.

#Energize 0.13.2 from the F-Droid repo.

@lproven Thanks for that article on your blog about Outliners. I didn't know what they were called, have been using cherrytree as one for about six months for writing. Now I can search out more like it.

Yeah, bit late to the party. ;) Cheers.

I fire up Instagram for a day every six months to see if any of my friends who won't use any other communication method have died.

So how have people still not worked out that posting three times a day about the war in Palestine doesn't do anything to stop the war on Palestine?

I used to make jokes about how that thinking the internet was real life was indistinguishable from delusion, and now it's not a joke.

It's magical thinking believing that the war room in Israel will pack up a century of planning because @cheese_mom78 got three reposts.

That feeling of being gaslit by a FOSS readme.txt that swears blind there's a feature in this release but actually it got bumped again.
The ACTUAL 'If Google was a person':
"Google, I need a camera store near me."
"How about Smith's Cameras? They're open 9-5 7 days a week."
"Uhh, your own review pags says that store has been closed since 2019."
"You could try Digital Optics SA? They're closed right now."
"That's not very useful... wait, this company is a military hardware researcher. They make lasers."
"Well, how about Smith's Cameras? They're open 9-5 7 days a week."
"What? Didn't you -"
"Maybe John's Cameras? Serving NYC since 1977?"
"I'm in fucking Germany! What the hell is wrong with you?"
"John's delivers free anywhere inside the US!"
"What the -"
"How about Smith's Cameras? They're open 9-5 7 days a week."
"Bing? Bing, help me."
"A camera is an optical device that captures an image..."
