Should the text tool's memory for font, size, color etc be attached to each different method of text instead of using a single global?

For example should it remember a different font/size for text-on-path, compared to text-in-rect, compared to text-in-shape and compared to regular text lines?

A European Office Suite? We have one already!

It is interesting to see Euro-Office launched, with Nextcloud in charge. We would like to provide some initial thoughts here to address people’s questions.

As Open Document Format (ODF) is more widely adopted, it's becoming clear: THIS is the future. A fully open, documented and standardised format – unlike Microsoft's "Transitional" OOXML: https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2026/03/27/odf-is-the-future-ooxml-is-the-past/
ODF is the future, OOXML is the past - TDF Community Blog

Whenever a user, a government, a school or a business chooses the format in which to store and exchange its digital documents, it is not merely making a technical decision, but is placing a bet on the kind of digital infrastructure on which it will depend in the future. In this sense, ODF and OOXML are not two equivalent options on the same shelf, but two radically different solutions: one geared towards a future of openness, interoperability and digital sovereignty, and the other towards a past of defending a vendor’s dominant market position through user lock-in. ODF: designed to be open and transparent Open Document Format was conceived from the outset to be an open standard. It was designed and developed by the community under the auspices of OASIS, and subsequently ratified by ISO, to be implemented by anyone, on any platform, without royalties, without hidden dependencies and without the permission of any single company. These are not trivial technical details, but a statement of political and economic strategy embedded within the format itself. ODF is based on a clean XML schema, easy to read even by non-technical users and reusable. Colour naming follows standard web conventions, and its architecture

What if instead of giving carbon credits to industry where the biggest, most polluting industry gets a sack of pollution permissions based on how greedy they've been in the past... and instead give every person in the country an equal carbon credit share, which they could spend on fuel discounts, flight discounts or just trade them in for cash from the billionaires.

Allowing you to fly a bit cheaper for your holidays, even more cheaply if you did all the insulation, EV, and other improvements?

Migrating issues from GitHub to Codeberg. In the course of porting a project from (several) GitHub repositories to a (single) Codeberg repository, I found that I wanted to be able to migrate the issues. So I wrote a script to do that. #GitHub #Codeberg

OK @Wolthera it took a couple of days to fix a bunch of bugs this brought to light, but...

https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/merge_requests/7827 steals your Krita feature for text-on-path and text-in-shape... a bit of inkscape UX which was very very bad. but now good!

Also not sure if Krita 6.0 can align text on the ends of the paths like I show here. I wanted to make sure that was possible for incomplete lines.

The triangle and circle nodes let the user drag the offset and change sides after creation.
