New project in the hopper: a rebuild of an #Alienware Area-51 R4.
Last year a friend of mine gave me the guts of a “broken” A51-R4, just the board, CPU, and AIO cooler. Thought the board was bad, but it was just a blown PSU. Replaced PSU, added RAM/SSD, voila, working, albeit in a basic black generic ATX case.
This week I received the actual case for it. It’s a monument to Dell’s hubris. My wife looked at it with disgust and contempt when I unloaded it from the car.
I’m excited.
