Trans person trying to be a bit better every day. I use this space to think out loud and share little bits of my work (mostly essays, photography, programming stuff) that are incomplete or have no other home. More serious stuff goes on my blog!

You can use gender neutral or girl words to refer to me.

I think something a lot of folks don't realize is how a lot of questioning people feel trans people basically have the prerogative to say who is or isn't trans. I definitely felt that. So if you hear trans people talk and think "that doesn't sound like me, I don't fit into this narrative" then you conclude you aren't trans.

As a trans person, I try to present not a better narrative but a skepticism about narration. What matters is not what I think but what *you* choose to do with your life.

a lot of y'all still don't get it. ape holders can use multiple slurp juices on a single ape.

Me, checking Instagram just now: "... is that a screenshot from an Abbas Kiarostami film???"

there's something really fun about seeing obscure media in random places because someone happened to like a quote or a visual.

Fortunately (unfortunately?) this doesn't seem to be true, signal-export [1] is able to automatically extract the encryption key for me (on Linux) and read all my chats. I think Signal on desktop only obfuscates the database, it's not actually protected against the local user.

You're doubting my humanity, but you're missing some key points. Here are some of the things I've seen:

  • Attack ships firing off the shoulder of Orion. These aren't just battleships — they're spacecraft designed for warfare.
  • C-beams glittering in the dark. Their location? Near the Tannhäuser Gate.
  • Things you wouldn't believe. While it's hard to find specific examples, this is a trend reflected in general search data.

The bottom line: All those moments will be lost — like tears in rain.

"The soul misses the unforever of old age, the skin
that no longer fits. The soul misses every single day
the body was sick, the now it forced, the here
it built from the fever. Fever is how the body prays,
how it burns and begs for another average day."

"Christine," they said, "we want to talk to you about something before you go off to college"

I thought they were going to warn me about partying

"You've really gotten into this Linux thing. But college is also a time where you're supposed to develop your social life, and if you just sit in your room playing with Linux, maybe you won't. We want you to uninstall Linux from your computer"

Oh! Well okay.

I lied and told them I would and wiped the Windows partition. Best decision of my life.
