@eniko time for revival of Gunpei Yokoi's / nintendo's "withered technology" philosophy, pretty please? :)
hi #fedihired i'm looking for part time/contract work (remote/sydney). i'm most interested in embedded systems, linux driver dev/porting and game dev, but i can do many things with computers. absolutely no ai. i like working on things that spark joy and improve the lives of people, especially if it's open source. for the last year I've been working with MNT doing a mix of web development and driver porting for the reform, to give an idea of what i've been doing lately. boosts welcome. ty! :3
@fullywoolly for the record: all true, agree. (and thank you for a comment)
@fullywoolly this is what common knowledge is, i think, and this is what i've experienced also but without a diode. with a diode it's more even - this observation triggered me to go bit further. supossedly "sameness" of components, temperature and resistance plays a vital role.
@fullywoolly those are voltage regulators sharing burden of current load via diode. another such module will be added in parallel. board is a test of how evenly load will split without "smart control" when current is changing a lot. power traces are calculated to have same length, resistance etc. most likely i will compare it with setup driven by two hall current sensors and a microcontroller ironing out any imbalance. setup is based on this doc: https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an4381-current-sharing-in-parallel-diodes-stmicroelectronics.pdf
i've developed a lasting obsession with current load-balancing #electronics #diy
small VBUS proxy, to help with USB-powered devices profiling. here's the blueprint in case of need: https://codeberg.org/filipmnowak/usb2_vbus_proxy #diy #electronics
@nnnilabs looks neat. i still can't get over android uis and touch screens (i know, with amount of settings there is no other way maybe, but still 🤷)
@Annacats "(...) He is the kin of the jungle’s lords, and heir to the secrets of hoary and sinister Africa. The Sphinx is his cousin, and he speaks her language; but he is more ancient than the Sphinx, and remembers that which she hath forgotten." 2/2 -- The Cats of Ulthar, H. P. Lovecraft
@Annacats "It is said that in Ulthar, which lies beyond the river Skai, no man may kill a cat; and this I can verily believe as I gaze upon him who sitteth purring before the fire. For the cat is cryptic, and close to strange things which men cannot see. He is the soul of antique Aegyptus, and bearer of tales from forgotten cities in Meroë and Ophir. (...)" 1/2
