A huge thank you to everyone who supported my fundraiser for Skye's assistance dog. I am delighted to have come in third-place in the Women's Category in my first Marathon yesterday. This was in-spite of taking a tumble over a tree stump halfway through. Years of rugby and kickboxing have taught me how to fall gracefully and in a way to minimise injury. Those sports have also taught me to get up and keep fighting! 🌳 🏃🏻🥊

We raised £525 towards the £10995 goal.

Would you like to put a smile on my face and help someone else too (documentary evidence of me running and smiling in the reply)?

For various reasons this past month has been a bit rough, so please help me raise money for another kind of ruff, an assistance dog for Skye.

I'm currently at the £240 mark of my £500 goal. If you can give even a little that would be awesome.

While I appreciate the motivational data visualisation JustGiving, the implied sum in this visualisation is driving me wild!

While I'm here, if folks on @Mastodon can chip in a few [insert currency here] to help me reach my goal in aid of, the wonderful, Fabrica art gallery (who do tonnes of great work in the Brighton community) that would be brill!

Drawing:
Sometimes, I'll be stuck with a piece of code for data transformation, and drawing how I want the data frame to look creates the space I need to solve the problem.

That is the essence of drawing for me; it is not about the object or subject but the space around it. Too often, in all the spheres I have worked in, we focus on the target, the action, or the object, not the things that already exist in the space or the context around that 'thing'.

How much do I care about raising money for codebar Brighton?
Post-training rain-soaked-socks-much 🧦

I am raising money for codebar, an organisation that helps Women, LGBTQIA+ people, and folks who are underrepresented in tech to learn how to code. I'd like to do codebar proud by running my best in the Great South Run and reaching my goal of £300.

Please, if you can chip in I’d be mighty grateful 💜💻💜

I had an absolute blast presenting at UX Camp Brighton yesterday. 2024 is my 10th year of attending, and I can feel the immense progress I have made in my crafts, my public speaking, and my presentation skills over that time.

A hearty thank you to UX Camp Brighton organisers, volunteers, fellow @LadiesthatUX_Br -ers, everyone who hosted sessions, and those who took the time to say hello and/or have a conversation.
