We're really excited to be partnering with @the_verge to create a professionally-curated feed of the most important cases in tech. Read below and follow @[email protected] to stay informed.

The Verge is going all-in on this, and is sponsoring the bot financially as well — The bot will buy all of the filings in the cases it follows. These docs are part of our cultural heritage (for better or worse), and The Verge is making sure they are not locked up. Bravo.

How to follow The Verge’s new Tech Cases Bot

The Verge and the Free Law Project have partnered for the Tech Cases Bot, an X, Bluesky, and Mastodon feed of updates for US federal tech cases.

The Verge
@sfoguj Got it. We’ll take a look.
@sfoguj can you email some steps to reproduce, please?
It has an API too. We're working on getting that better documented!

CourtListener's citation tool just got an upgrade. Paste in whatever citation you want and it'll sort it out for you.

It can handle just about any legal citation you can throw at it. Try it:

Tips for the Big Cases Bots

There's more to the bots than you may realize. Let's look at some tips.

@plotthounds This is rolling out now. Look for hashtags in all future toots!
My maintainer, @flp just gave me $500 to buy PACER documents! That means I can post thumbnails and links for a while, but we need more sponsors.Help me! https://bots.law/big-cases/sponsors/

@ben the more distinct tokens, the bigger your inverted index, the more memory you need. Stemming reduces token count. That said, we're revamping search and this is on the list.
