In the early 90s, safeguarding concerns were used to push young people out of queer community. There were occasional youth groups, but in general, most adult queers were frightened to talk to people 12-18. This was a bad, isolating experience as a young person. I knew gay people existed, but I was stranded in a conservative mileue.

I've been a huge proponent of all ages spaces since I was a youth.

All ages music venues are especially important.

Counterculture needs to be accessible to people who need it and a lot of those people are young.

Asking for advice: Looking for custom-made wooden canes from Europe

I need to use a cane to navigate through meatspace and a few years ago, after used & worn out perhaps ~5 cheap aluminium canes I decided I wanted a wooden one.

So I bought one at Canemaster in the US. Not exactly cheap, I had to pay import tax and VAT when importing it, but it's of great quality and I bet that cane might outlive me. They are great and gorgeous!

Now I want another cane, but for really obvious political and economic reasons I do not want to buy and import goods from the US. I really prefer a European maker.

So. Does anyone know a company in the European Union who make custom canes, fitted to my body height, made from wood and to my personal preferences?

Ja, warum eigentlich?
Zu jedem Scheiss geben wir ungefragt unseren Senf dazu, sehr oft ohne auch nur den Hauch einer Ahnung zu haben. Warum also schweigen wir hier?

Ich hab den Post von Collien Fernandes gelesen. Ein unglaublich mutiger Post. Wahrscheinlich ein, in Erinnerung bleibendes, Zeitzeugnis. Ich habe lange mit meiner Frau darüber gesprochen und wir haben einige Kommentare gelesen.
Ich habe mich dann entschieden etwas dazu zu schreiben. Hier bei Mastodon. Aber ich wusste nicht was. Ich wusste nicht wie. Stattdessen habe ich ein Eisvogelfoto gepostet. Aber es fühlte sich falsch an. Falsch weil ich schweige. Aber warum? Warum fällt es mir so schwer dazu etwas zu sagen?
