@finux I love guitar music, just never had the urge to play (other than to annoy my mates by playing bass lines on their guitars). I guess it’s a substance versus style thing partially, and partially the music and artists you like. That’s why I like Gibson SG (Angus Young, Tony Iommi, etc) and Ibanez (Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, etc)

@finux never really been a guitar person so never really understood why Strats get such reverence. Mate bought one instead of an Ibanez and I couldn’t fathom it. He bought quite a few more, including an Ibanez, but that original Strat was always the favourite.

@stevelord my favourite are the ones who won’t even give you a quote without a face to face meeting, closely followed by those were you talk to them once and they are all over your LinkedIn and mailbox

@stevelord yeah it’s definitely a slog. Don’t know if I’m getting more cynical and less tolerant, or whether sales people got more annoying and more persistent. Probably a bit of both.

@finux nice. How does it compare to a US strat? You picking up guitars just as a collector, or are you looking for variety of sounds and buying guitars to match?
