Hiberno-English word/phrase of the day:
Barrack
Where I come from (Co. Galway) to barrack means to consistently interrupt a person who is speaking. In Ulster the verb means to brag, to be boastful of one's fighting powers.
Internationally speaking if you hear someone "barracking" for a team (particularly in Australia), it means to cheer them on. Conversely, in British English, it means to heckle or shout aggressively at someone.
