Day 49-52: I get a night train to Surabaya, Eastern Java. It takes 4 hours to get there, I arrive in the early morning and board the ferry to Sorong, Western Papua. I would have loved to stop in Makassar, but it would have taken one more day of navigation and I am desperate to reach Papua asasp. It takes 4 days to travel the 2,400km distance from Surabaya to Sorong. It only costs €40. I get treated to breathtaking sunsets, which makes slowtravelling an unforgettable experience. I "unofficially" upgrade my ticket to second class. I have a couchette only for me, so I am able to work on my papers and research in absolute peace. I regret not sharing the travel with people in the third class, but it's too important I get some good sleep. Still, I socialise with fellow passengers on the main deck. 68/

Bei der Bürgerenergiegenossenschaft beg-58.de wurden im letzten Jahr wieder mehr als 10% des Sonnenstroms abgeregelt, das heißt nicht produziert. In diesem Jahr rechnen sie mit noch größeren Abschaltungen wegen fehlender Batteriespeicher.
Welch ein Luxus in diesem Land, dass wir es uns leisten, regenerativen Strom im großen Stil zu vernichten.

The singer was interviewing the author Roxanne Gay on her podcast Service 95 Book Club. The Women’s Day episode specifically covered misogyny in society and the media. This included many topics, but especially how victims are talked about and treated.

For years, I've been playing mandolin in a bluegrass/fiddle band for fun. In May, our "Blue Mondays" band will play in a concert/fundraiser "Pickin' for Democracy". Every penny goes to Movement Voters PAC to fund local organizing and movement-building for voters. Our band has a $5,000 target (there are 10 other bands!!) We're looking for sponsors.
