I also tend to favor Umberto Eco's thoughts on the 'Antilibrary', that is, the idea that the most important feature of one's personal library are the unread books. They, are the source of unending possibility and potentiality. Lurking with their pages is the presence of 'perhaps'.

@fifischwarz @brainpilgrim @bookstodon I'm definitely the same way, I'll sometimes I'll read a book from the library and it's just too good not own, especially when I know it's something I want to add to my re-reading list. Yiyvn Li says that "A first reading is only a first encounter, and if a book doesn't move me into rereading, it remains a mere acquaintance instead of a conversational partner."

I drop them off at the local public library. They, in turn, sell them as part of a fund raising project. The library usually prices them for a dollar or less. It's a triple win for me, the library, and the new owner.
