☮️ A little #coffee karma this morning

I enjoy an #espresso before I set out for a run, but the AirBNB I’m staying in has a pretty poor espresso machine if I may say so

I’ve been trying a number of coffee shops around #krakow and visited one called Karma Coffee

Their POS terminal wasn’t working so they said I could come back later to pay

You wouldn’t get that in #London, lol!!!

Not every battle needs to be won

Final #run before a rest day and I just so desperately wanted to get 7’30”

I play #poker, and I know that the best, or most optimal, play isn’t always the winning one

Luck favours the fools; fortune favours the brave

I still got my best time. I know it is just another step closer to my ultimate run goal of sub 6 minutes before I’m 30

Keep going. Be brave. Execute.

🌿 Greet Mother #nature when you’re outside working out

Call me a hippy, but I feel so much better working out when saying hello to the foliage, asking the birds and insects how their day has been, and thanking the river for carrying me during my #run

It makes me feel like I’m stepping into the great #energy nature has; becoming part of it rather than existing beside or disrupting it

🏆 New Personal Best!!

I slept better than yesterday (see my profile for that analysis) - 9 hours, which is a LOT for me!

I had to start my #run from a different position today, as the route I took y.day was blocked for construction. Still along Vistula #River

Started too fast again today (3’36”/km) but was able to maintain a pretty consistent pace of 9-10 seconds above pace when I settled into things

First full day in #Poland and my first run along the Vistula #river

Yesterday was a tough day of travel; 3 hours of sleep the night before and a 5k run didn’t help matters

This #run was also tough. Started too fast (typical) and was fatigued by the final half to quarter.

I pushed through however and got my third PB, giving me a good baseline. I have a week here and want to get 7’30” 💪🏻

That water looks so cool, I could go for a paddle..!

🏆 My first ever 5km #run

I took a route around #London following the Thames, which was rather serene - from Tower Bridge to Waterloo. #Running across the bridges was an incredibly freeing feeling

I’m happy with my pace, albeit I did pause in places to cross the road / find my way back to the river

This won’t replace my sprints I don’t think, but I’ll do one of these again in the next week and will make it continuous

Live every day as if it’s your last

Always thought this sounded cringe, but I understood its meaning this morning

My #holiday comes to an end today (well tomorrow, but it’s a day of travel)

My past three runs I matched my PB and I was determined to beat it one last time before I went home

And I did. By a whole entire 19 seconds

Attached is a photo of where I began each run. I’ll miss that path

You don’t grow when things are easy.. Comfort blanket? No; it’s a comfort straight jacket!

Three times this holiday I’ve matched my PB #running time (including beating the previous by 1sec)

This is me living at one of my edges. These runs have shown me all you need to do is push and you’ll succeed

Sounds simple, but it’s tough to implement

I was thinking this morning of my best friend who died three years ago

Tbh - I spent the past few hours crying so hard. The wounds hurt as much as they did the day he left

Didn’t feel like #running today

If I wasn’t going to do it for me, then I was going to for him. It made me push myself and I got my best ever time

Also saw a #heron

I miss you, buddy
