As another example, one of these is a single image from an orchid protocorm from an in vitro cultivation of Laelias. Only a tiny part of the image is in focus.
In the focus stack, the software finds the parts in focus and combines them into a much nicer image.

Good news: 0 evidence of contamination

You can see some specialized structures that will later become leaves or roots.
The round balls are called "protocorm", which is a germinated embryo, and they are so large and multicelular, that I can only show them by stacking (later...)
