Nicht vor Einzelfällen.
Sondern vor dem, was gerade passiert.

Vor dem Rechtsruck.
Vor Neonazis, die wieder laut werden.
Vor Menschen, die im Bundestag sitzen und so tun, als wäre das normal.
Als wäre das die Mitte.

I now have Rust code in my KNX device stack that generates product definition files to import into the ETS. The whole "Dynamic" section (the tabs that you see to select device configuration values) is pretty ugly and every config value is dumped on the first page, but that's fixable once I write code to define these pages in a nice way. I haven't tested them yet, because the device stack isn't totally done yet, but we are getting really close that I can try to configure my own device from the ETS.

Also the resulting .knxprod files (they are just ZIP files) that are these product definitions delivered by device manufacturers, that contain all the definitions about how to configure a device, need to be signed with a private key you don't usually have. There is a way around this for backward compat and I have that private key that is used in these cases. I am just not bundling all the files yet and haven't tried generating an actual real .knxprod file with a signature generated by that private key yet. I know the OpenKNX project does it in the same way and so far they haven't pissed off enough people for the KNX Association to break ETS 3 (or 4?) backward compatibility, because that private key is used to sign old imported product databases that weren't signed back in the day into a newer ETS 5 or 6 version.

The generated XML files load fine in the "KNX Manufacturer Tool" that is usually used to build these product databases that are then sent off to an "accredited test lab" that tests for conformance and has these things signed by the KNX Association in case you didn't fuck up the conformance.

What you export out of that tool can be loaded into a regular ETS. Back in the day it just worked, but starting with ETS 6.3.0 you need to have a test license on your dongle (or a way around a dongle, but that's illegal!!1!). Can't have the freedom of just building your own devices and villy-nilly use them!!1! Except if you had a private key to sign them with...

Totally unrelated: How illegal is it in the EU to reverse engineer other people's shit, circumvent a bit of obfuscation and dump an RSA private key that you need to ensure compatibility to build and configure your own devices? Asking for a friend.

Entweder verstehe ich den Sarkasmus hier nicht, oder der Thread hier erschreckt mich heftig.

a) Mercosur ist totale Kacke. Wir brauchen wirklich nicht noch mehr Freihandelsabkommen auf der Welt, damit irgendwelche Grosskonzerne grössere Absatzmärkte bekommen. Mercosur ist schlecht fürs Klima und befördert den Faschismus (wenn euch das zu komplex ist, denkt mal darüber nach, wie wir zur aktuellen Faschismuswelle gekommen sind und welche Rolle der Neoliberalismus gespielt hat...). Lateinamerikanische Kleinbauernorganisationen protestieren übrigens auch dagegen.

b) Die Landwirte sind eine der wenigen Gruppen, die Protest gegen Mercosur auf die Reihe bekommt. Natürlich auch weil es ihre wirtschaftliche Aktivität direkter betrifft.

c) Natürlich ist es unschön dass die Proteste von Land Schafft Verbindung genutzt werden um sich in Szene zu setzen. Dass die so stark geworden sind, liegt allerdings auch an Jahrzehnten gescheiterter Agrarpolitik (für die der Bauernverband eine grosse Verantwortung trägt), einer überwiegend urban geprägten Umweltbewegung die es nicht hinbekommen hat, Brücken zu einer eher konservativ eingestellten Landbevölkerung zu bauen, und einem allgemeinen Rechtsruck im Land.

Und wenn die Mistkommentare in diesem Thread ernst gemeint sind, dann wundert mich auch gar nichts mehr.

d) Natürlich gibt es wohlhabende Landwirte. Und es gibt viel zu viele faschistoide Arschgeigen. Und und und.... Natürlich sind wir alle gefrustet wie mit den total harmlosen Aktionen der Letzten Generation umgegangen wurde. Aber dieses Bäuer:innen-bashing hier ist doch total kontraproduktiv.

Thankfully, there's a way to opt-out, and I just did that. And if you upload stuff to YouTube, for the love of all that is holy, PLEASE disable that too!
