I'm definitely getting spurts of motivation to work on my game. It may not be consistent but I'll never force a feeling. The process should always be fun. Anyways here's my progress from Sunday:

- added random background skies
- fixed an issue where walking while clicking an activity doesn't work as intended
- allow cancelling movement
- moved player levelling and experience system to server side
- fixed a few missing clean ups between switching activities

Next things I want to work on:
- item drops and respected item drop scaling
- things im curious about, increasing immersion with more weather effects
- encounter based quests

Follow me for updates like these. I'm making a 2D idle mmorpg

It just occurred to me that in webassembly there's less of a need for "serialisation" because you can just slice the memory your struct(s) occupy and send it over.

There's still a concern about corrupted data & versioning, but no big/little endian, 32/64 bit divides to worry about.

And depending on the compiler, pointers can even be deterministic.

Webassembly works in a virtual layer that makes it a bit slower. But we could take advantage of the characteristics of this layer for perf.

Does anyone know any good web games platform to launch on thats both fair on developers as well as the gamers?

This weekend I found out that 50 Cent has official videogames, then played one of them and loved it.

You enter a warzone (but it's a gang war) and shoot an AK-47, pistols, uzi a sniper rifle and an RPG, until you hopefully find the macguffin, a priceless ancient skull.

Feels like a generic middle east war game with added "50 Cent Themed Content" (characters, cutscenes, 50 Cent's music), but it takes itself seriously and it's really fun to buy into that.

Fun game 10/10

Missing my grandpa today :(

Any other reluctant Mac users here? How did you ever make keyboard shortcuts feel normal? I'll keep using Linux outside of work so I can't just rebuild muscle memory.

I'm talking copy/paste, switch between windows of the same app it's CMD+` instead of CMD+tab, switching workspaces etc
