Left Facebook and Twitter for the Fediverse; criminally inconsistent here too.

Feeling quite under the weather today. Got to work and more or less immediately turned around to come home and rest.

Upside: finally *did* remember to snag that CRT that was left in the old building occupant's electronics lab. Found to be in good working order, even!

This wasn't really a prerequisite for enjoying some #Dreamcast games later this week, but it's hard to deny the joy it brings. For now, some #Playstation2 games until it's time to sleep some more.

We had an absolute ball of a time yesterday, getting a bunch of #Owncast #Freestreamers together to play Unreal Tournament 2004.

Big thanks to @enoent for hosting and making it happen, welcome to the Owncast gaming community @synduckate, and thanks for the frags @hylas, @logan, @Astarael, ENOENT, Synduckate, Romulus, and a few randoms who happened by to take part.

Take a look at that directory; next time we'll double it >:3

Enjoyed spending quite a bit of time this weekend playing #Luanti (nee #Minetest) with some friends on the Archtec server.

We finally got our particle collider working, and I celebrated by writing a little system overview display. Nah, still don't care for lua, but happy enough with the little side project.

Finally, what we've all been waiting for -- for very small values of "we all!"

A #HomeAssistant custom component which you can use to track the status of an #Owncast server. More than one, even. Enumerate on cards, automate with notifications, whatever you like.

Usual caveat applies: this is a work in progress, but it's working well enough to share.

Thanks @hylas for keeping on me about making this available. Thanks @notruthsaga for agreeing to be an example.

Today I wrote a little Discord Activity plugin that frames in a named #owncast server.

We have a small community that sometimes hosts watch together type events (movies, sports, whatever), but for various reasons, desktop capture is sometimes icky, so we sometimes use owncast. This just lets us put it in the channel directly.

It's niche, unfinished, and I have to jump through some hoops to actually use it in our community instead of in a DM, but happy that its finally working, even if kinda.

Ahhhhhh my copy of #OtherNetworks by @loriemerson came in today! There goes my evening 😃

Well my dear friend and co-host SilvanestiMek went and commissioned a new profile picture right after the new playlist banners got made.

No matter, they were made to be updated easily! Check it out! 😍

Hey! Welcome to my stream! My name is Mek, Silva, or Shae. I am a variety streamer from Canada who is a huge nerd when it comes to D&D, indie games, and all things witchy. You will also learn that I am a huge snack connoisseur. Feel free to lurk or say hi!

Ended up spending ENTIRELY too much time editing a high-res gameboy cartridge scan into new peertube playlist images.

I think they came out really cute!

Spent some time fighting the Tandberg C60 to play nicely with #asterisk tonight, but happy to report that we got there.

It really _really_ wants to use H323, y'all, and saving certain SIP parameters via the web interface is bugged to hell (like auth?) -- you've got to jump into the CLI and set the parameters manually.

Made tweaks to codec lists on device and pbx, and we have g.722+h263p SIP calls working.

Wrapped it up with a nice custom wallpaper bow.

Speaking of gear that I'd really like to get up and running again, there's this Equinox SuperSerial hub that's been occupying rack space for a while.

I think I originally picked this up with a specific want to do something like the Dial Up Lan-Party mentioned elsewhere.

I wonder how fast you can get a stable dial-up connection to work over an upstream #VoIP provider like Twilio, if anything.
