I had to install Windows 11 on a laptop that was running Arch Linux (don’t ask me why—I’m really pissed off about this), and it was the worst user experience I’ve had in years.
1) The laptop's touchpad didn't work; I had to use a USB mouse.
2) Windows 11 didn't recognize the M.2 drive. Why? No fucking idea. You have to download some drivers (not the typical .exe file, but their .sys, .cat, .info, etc.), insert another USB drive with them, and install them during the W11 installation process.
3) By default, it won't let you continue the installation without an Internet connection. To get around this, you have to press Shift+F10 and run a command I found on a forum.
4) After the installation drama finally ended, I’m left with a system where the laptop's touchpad still doesn't work and the Wi-Fi network card isn’t detected. I have to install the drivers manually.
"Windows is easier than Linux". My ass!
