We were invited to the premiere of “The Voice of Dust and Ash” about Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, the iconic Persian maestro who was ostracized by the Iranian regime after speaking (and singing) against its brutality and refusing to let his work be hijacked for propaganda.
His daughter gave a really powerful and beautiful performance afterward.
