@marcoarment re: cases, I’ve been a back-only “case” person since my 6s, I’m not a dropper so I’m just looking for better back grip and as little camera bump as possible. Wooden on most of them, leather on the last one. This year I got the Nomad magnetic Horween leather back for my 16 Pro and a week in it’s pretty good. Well attached, no trouble in/out of pocket, quite satisfied. More camera bump than I’d like, but is what it is, I guess.

Just be aware that Macs have BSD tar which has different features from GNU tar for Historical Reasons, so you’d need to get GNU tar from homebrew if you want to try this out. 7z or rar or even zip could make a split archive also, but you don’t really need compression for this, so tar is probably a pretty good fit. I’d make the split archives on hard disk as files and drop them onto media the normal way.

@caseyliss re: your easy to remember DNS name for home situation. I use the Linux tool ‘ddclient’ with https://www.nsupdate.info and make the record in my owned domain zone a CNAME to the name I get from nsupdate. Free, easy, custom domain name, automatic, does not julienne fries, sadly.
