If you teach in #HigherEd — How about devoting half an hour of class time to the #ClimateCrisis this March? I'm trying to drum up some interest on my campus, so I posted the following on our blog...

Save the Date to Save the Climate
Yes yes yes we know this semester is crazy! But we just wanted to ask you to save the date now for something very interesting next semester. Here’s what’s up: As part of the Worldwide T…
CAT FooD@liprap weird and kind of wonderful and kind of frightening. With replicas like this, who needs originals?
I'm also a media artist, writer, photographer, videographer, songwriter, and (until the untimely death of Dr. Homan) I was the lead singer for Half Pagan. I've written one book, Spinning in Place: A Secular Humanist Embraces the Neo-Pagan Wheel of the Year. I've also written a number of columns and essays which are floating around various sites on the internet. I'm actively working to develop Gaian community and uplift Gaian identity.
Since I'm new here, an introduction. I am a creative generalist at Xavier University of Louisiana's Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Faculty Development. My primary interests include ecospirituality and concepts of Gaia. I helped found the Green Party of Louisiana, Friends of Lafitte Greenway, the Earth-Based Spirituality Action Team of Citizens' Climate Lobby, and the Greater New Orleans Interfaith Climate Coalition. I serve on the board of the Gaian Way.
@dasparky and yet people continue vaguely to think daylight saving time was invented "for the farmers." It's madness.
Standard time is better. Daylight saving time is an abomination which should never have been implemented. More importantly, changing our clocks is the worst. I'd prefer to stay on standard time perpetually, but I'll take daylight savings time (which the Louisiana legislature seems to prefer) if it meant we never had to fiddle with our clocks again. We should adjust our schedules, not our clocks.
Candidates come and go, but vinyl polychloride is forever. Blessings to whoever removed all these campaign signs from the neutral ground and stacked them neatly by the garbage can where they belong. Our debased political discourse made manifest.
