I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Block storage on fire off the shoulder of us-east-1. I watched downlinks glitter in the dark near the Goldstone Complex. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to B2B SaaS.

Does anyone know a museum or other institution that would be willing to take this large vintage railway wheel(?) press? It's marked "Chambersburg Engineering Co., No. 863", and a long time ago it was used to help maintain rail cars at the Port of San Francisco. Unfortunately it's going to the scrap yard this week because no museums we've tried are willing to come haul it away. boosts appreciated.

One last thing before I unplug from the Fediverse for the rest of the day.

I want to work. Even if it's part time. Ideally, I'd have a role at some kind of a non-profit. I'm thinking a bike co-op. Either as an "apprentice" bike mechanic, or doing something in IT (which doesn't require driving between different sites).

If you can help, please let me know. I need to start making an income. We want to move closer to Beaverton where my partner works.

@thomasfuchs someone ran a custom single threaded Dhrystone benchmark against various computers he used since 1976 - not sure if this is of interest? It isn't optimised and so gains from this and multi threading would be much better these days.

(Updated with a better source which includes a list of results and link to the GitHub repo for the benchmark)

@yoasif FYI, that huggingface page says it's an embedding model, which is a kind of model for comparing how similar/different arbitrary text strings are. It's not a full LLM, but probably still not supposed to be there if the kill switch is on, though.
