Attention Beige Party-goers! 

JUST WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE?

This is not a rhetorical question. I originally started this instance as a familiar place for people from my corner of Twitter to dip their toes into the fediverse, and that's basically what I put in the instance description.

However, we've grown since then and now we have some party-goers who were not connected to Twitter at all and I don't want to give the impression that we're only accepting people coming over from Twitter as new members. As such, I'd like to update the instance description accordingly so that it's not so Twitter-centric. It's a new world here and we get to decide how we want to represent ourselves.

But when I try to describe the particular Beige Party vibe all I can really fall back on is somewhere around the intersection of Weird and Funny Twitter. My mind is still trapped in old paradigms and I need to break free. In desperation I settled on this:

A home for the absurd on the federated inter-tubes

But maybe that's not quite right either. And also, it's not really up to me to decide what our particular deal is. I'm just some weirdo renting an imaginary server in Finland. It is you, the brave party-goers, who are the true keepers of the ineffable Beige Party vibe. So how would you all describe it?
